“How to Reserve a Puppy”

1. To start the reservations process, please call Bill or Deborah, at the phone #'s listed below to confirm the puppy you are interested in does remain available:

2.We will need your name, address, telephone #’s , driver’s license # and details about who plans to pick up the puppy at the airport etc.  Please also read the "SPECIFIC INFORMATION WE WILL ACQUIRE UPON RESERVATION" below.

3.We will normally need balance in full if ship date is less than 2 wks away, because we will need to take the puppy to the vet for vet certification and prebook the flight.  if you need special arrangements, please just ask us. If you are reserving a puppy that you plan to pickup or not ship for several weeks, we can get deposit to reserve the puppy, then you can submit balance upon pickup of the puppy or week before shipping.  Normally we require half of puppy price which acts as the deposit tendered to reserve a puppy.  AFTER THE PUPPY HAS BEEN RESERVED, the deposit (half of puppy price) and microchip amounts ($40 if elected...THIS IS NOT REQUIRED) will act as the nonrefundable portion of total purchase price upon any cancellation by new owner .

4.Once you reserve a puppy, We will forward you a RESERVATION EMAIL which places into writing everything we discussed about the puppy upon reservation. The RESERVATION EMAIL will be divided into SECTION A :It will include payment documentation, tentative shipping or pickup arrangements, puppy care instructions (step-by-step feeding and housetraining instructions) and the warranty for your puppy…..AND….SECTION  B:  This is 1 page that new onwer and/or cardholder will need to print and add signatures & date…then fax back to us at 1-828-728-3299. Section B actually activates your warranty and provides your signature showing proof that you authorized the credit card transaction. We call all credit cards into the AUTHORIZATION CENTER. Once they approve the transaction, they will provide us a CAPTURE # for the transaction.  We will provide your capture # for you in section A of your PUPPY RESERVATION EMAIL. The capture # is a way for you to track the transaction if you ever felt the need to. You would do this by calling the 1-800 number on back of your credit card and then submitting the capture # once they ask for it. This is a step that we as Merchants are not required to do…but we realize the capture # should give a greater comfort zone to the cardholder.

5.Once we prebook the flight, we will email the flight instructions. They will be extremely complete and new owner will know EVERYTHING about the arrangements for the puppy’s flight: ship date, which airport to pickup at, what department to pick up puppy in , when the puppy leaves us , if it connects and finally the arriving flight at arrival time.  We obtain the information about your closest major airport upon reservation, then research the flights to your area and pick the very best flight scenario we have to choose from. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS IS THE CONFIRMATION # WHICH WE PROVIDE…IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, YOU CAN SHOW THIS NUMBER TO THE AIRSTAFF AND THEY WILL KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOUR PUPPY’S FLIGHT ARRANGEMENTS. We stay with our puppies until we have to turn them over to the AIRSTAFF. We exercise the puppies, potty, feed and water them before departure. We also place extra nourishments inside the crate with them. We insure your flight for your cost as well.

6.Section A will help you get prepared before your puppy’s arrival. You will be able to get everything on hand that the puppy will need.

7.When you pickup the puppy at the airport, you will go to the pickup area which the flight instructions explain….show your driver’s license for identification and go home. Shipping fees will be paid on our end.  The puppy will come in an airline approved crate with a packet of information attached. This packet will have the current health record attached along with a copy of the vet certification that was done just prior to shipping the puppy. This is your proof that the puppy passed a complete medical exam and was healthy while with us. The medical record can be shown to your vet so he/she knows all the vaccinations/ prophylactic treatments that the puppy received while with us so your vet can develop a treatment plan for the first year of life.  Take your Nutrical ( this product will be explained in Section A) and water to the airport with you so you can provide some supplementation and a drink of water as the puppy arrives to you, then a full meal once you return home. Section A will instruct you on everything you need to take to the airport with you.

9.Your puppy’s warranty requires that you get an arrival exam by vet of your choice within 2 working days of arrival. This is mainly to make sure the puppy is adjusting well to the new home without any stress related problems popping up.

SPECIFIC  INFORMATION WE WILL ACQUIRE UPON RESERVATION:

 

Once you are ready to make a puppy reservation, please call Deborah at 1-828-728-2719. We will obtain the following information from you to ensure the smoothest transactions possible:

1.   Name of new owner…which all paperwork will go into.

2.   Address of new owner....both physical address, address from your driver's license and credit card account address will be needed. The airlines will check driver's license for ID upon picking up the puppy at the airport. Driver's License # for cardholder and new owner will be required.

3.   Home phone and cell phone. Cell phone is needed for the actual day of travel…making it possible to reach you via phone during the travel/shipping day of puppy.

4.   Email address of new owner and cardholder.

5.   The closet major airport to new owner. First and second choices of airport are needed in case we need an alternate for any reason.

6.   Person or persons who will actually pick the puppy up at the airport. If this person is different from the new owner…we will need names and addresses for those people. This will be required by the airlines. Upon picking up the puppy, the airlines will request identification for obvious reasons.

7.   Method of Payment:  MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover are accepted. We also accept a certified cashier’s check or money order, but the balance will need to be received by MCK the week prior to shipping so that shipping arrangements, vet certification and all other preparations can be completed as required for shipping. If Deposit and Balance are tendered in separate transactions, both transactions will require authorization and signed/dated confirmation return to MCK either by fax or certified postal mailing.

    MCK will process all credit card transactions by phoning them into the AUTHORIZATION CENTER. Once the transaction is approved, a CAPTURE NUMBER will be issued to us which we will further provide to the new owner. The new owner can then track the transaction by calling the toll free number provided on the back of the cardholder’s credit card and submitting the capture number. MCK provides the capture number in an attempt to give the cardholder “peace of mind” that MCK will make no transactions on the account that is not clearly authorized by the cardholder. Deposits taken to reserve a puppy (half of puppy price) and Cost of Microchip if purchased ($40) are the nonrefundable portion of the total purchase price upon any cancellation by new owner. MCK may choose to allow transfer of deposit to another available puppy in the event buyer needs to cancel original reservation.

    8. After completion of puppy reservation, MCK will forward a " RESERVATION EMAIL" to the new owner and cardholder which reviews all stipulations of the reservation. Please ensure all your information was transcribed correctly and is accurate. ****Please MAKE any CORRECTIONS needed  in your email address, name, residence address and information. ALL CORRECTIONS should be added to the copy which you will return to MCK and have your handwritten signature and date attached. *******

Once MCK has processed your reservation and obtained necessary information needed for the purchase vs. shipping etc., we will email you a " puppy reservation email" which will document everything discussed by both parties during the reservation process. Upon receiving the "puppy reservation email" …Please print the document, add your personal handwritten signatures and date and either fax or mail this back to us via certified postal mailing. Once MCK receives your completed document, it will activate your warranty and will further be saved to your file.

Options for return of warranty:

  1. fax to 828-728-2719…THIS IS THE PREFERRED and MOST INEXPENSIVE METHOD OF RETURN. PLEASE RETURN TO MCK IMMEDIATELY.

IF YOU DO NOT OWN A FAX, YOU CAN POSSIBLY FIND THIS SERVICE AT MANY PRINTING SHOPS, SOME BANKS, SOME POST OFFICES, LIBRARIES, FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS, etc. IF YOU CAN NOT FAX RETURN…THEN YOU ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN YOUR HANDSIGNED AND DATED CONTRACT BY POSTAL MAILING via OPTIONS B OR C BELOW:

  1. if SHIPPING  OR  PICK UP is planned for the week following date of reservation …mail ‘CERTIFIED PRIORITY’ …. YOUR HANDSIGNED AND DATED CONTRACT SHOULD BE RETURNED TO US AND RECEIVED BY:_________________.
  2. if SHIPPING  OR  PICK UP is not planned for the week following date of reservation … mail ‘CERTIFIED FIRST CLASS’ …. YOUR HANDSIGNED AND DATED CONTRACT SHOULD BE RETURNED TO US AND RECEIVED BY:_________________.

 

ALL CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION CENTERS mandate merchants to operate by these faxing/postal mailing options in an effort to protect both the card holder and merchant. These forms of return give both merchant and card holder verification of identity/establishment for both parties of the transaction and further provide a concrete ethical business mode by which either party can track all procedings should the need arise. VERY SIMPLY: LET’S WORK TOGETHER TO PROTECT EACH OTHER AND TO ESTABLISH CONCRETE PROOF OF ETHICAL BUSINESS CONDUCT AND PREVENT SCAMS ON EITHER END OF THE BUSINSESS TRANSACTION.
